    Overview

    Join The Herbfarm as Assistant Sommelier and back up Dining Room Server to help make life as perfect as it can be our guests for just a few hours.

    You have the opportunity to create lasting memories in a relaxed and elegant setting while Second Sommelier and Server--serving 5-hour, 9-course dining experiences at The Herbfarm Restaurant. Smiles, Elegance, Grace are prerequisites along with a deep knowledge of Pacific Northwest Wines and wine service.

    The Herbfarm is a world-class fine dining experience where our food follows the seasons. Our menus/wines change every 2-3 weeks. Our feet are on the ground and we usually have a sense of humor. We are the only 5-diamond restaurant west of Chicago and north of San Francisco. That said, we are also the only restaurant serving 9-course meals where guests can visit and feed our pet piggies during dinner.

    We seek an enthusiastic, passionate, disciplined, organized, warm, team member who is eager to learn The Herbfarm ways and provide better-than-expected service as part of our focused yet fun-loving service team. You must bring a strong background in wine knowledge and a passion to learn more about wines of the Pacific Northwest.

    There are a few different ways we can structure this position. First is as a full thyme position working most service nights and often a prep day prior to the first service of the week. You will be part of our wine and dining room service team, active in all aspects of The Herbfarm's Guest Service and dining room care. Alternatively, after training, you can work part thyme--1-3 nights per week as second sommelier and server. Or, with proper qualifications, experience and personality, we can discuss your schedule needs and see how they can work within The Herbfarm's needs.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • College Education.
    • 3+ Years fine hospitality wine and food serving experience.
    • Genuine desire to serve the guest and the company.
    • Broad knowledge of Pacific Northwest Wines and Foods and desire for more.
    • Experience presenting, opening, serving quality, vintage wines tableside.

    Skills needed

    •Table side communication skills regarding beverages and food with guests.
    •Able to assist guests with additional beverage selections about and beyond the wines matched to the meal.

    Hours/Schedules
